EM Skijoring CompetitionWelcome to EM in Skijoring 2014! You and your dogs are invited to join this spectacular great event to compete for the golden trophy but also to join up as a community and enjoy the winter here at north Sweden. Good luck!

Information:
The distance to run is 15km.
This is a marathon, you will need 2 dogs and 2 handlers, first dog runs half of the track towards the checkpoint, at the checkpoint the teams second dog and handler will finish the other half of the race.
The sky is clear and bright blue, there are no harsh winds and the temperature isn´t too cold, the sun will be really warm.
The race will begin on the wide open ice, everyone will start at the same time and run towards the woods. At the woods further in the teams will reach the checkpoint, second team will race through the woods and head back to the ice and where they first st

Story: Tucker and Finn are the best of friends. They're inseparable...literally. Separating Tucker and Finn is not a wise move...unless you want to be deaf by the end of the experience. As soon as they're out of sight of each other, Tucker and Finn become very upset and cry and howl to find their friend. They will not stop until they are reunited...even if the other is right around the corner. We've been training the two that, when racing alone, their friend will always be at the end of the finish line. This works well because it gives the dogs an extra motivation to run and finding each other is almost a game.
When we got to the Skijoring Competition, Tucker and Finn had to say their goodbyes. The two knew what was coming and were dramatic about it, as always. Garrett took Finn to the second checkpoint while Teague and Tucker stayed at the starting point. Teague had a difficult time holding Tucker back before the beginning of the race and when the start of the race was signaled, Tucker took off across the frozen lake like a bat out of hell with Teague holding on for dear life behind him.
For the first stretch of the race, Tucker flew across the snowy tundra with no signs of ever slowing down, but as the race continued, Teague managed to control the dog into a loping, more steady gallop. Every so often, Tucker would let out an ear-splitting howl in an attempt to locate Finn. It was about the time Teague and Tucker entered the woods when there was a response to Tucker's cry. At Finn's distant response, Tucker picked his speed back up and began continuously calling to his lost buddy. Finally, Tucker and Finn were reunited. Garrett and Teague allowed the two dogs to greet each other before they continued the race. With parting goodbyes, Finn and Garrett took off for the next stretch of the race while Teague and Tucker headed back to the finish line to wait for them.
